What you need to avoid are saturated fat and trans fat. If you successfully avoid eating foods that have these unhealthy fats, you can actually gain several benefits, such as:
1. Avoiding trans fats, most especially, can lower your low-density lipoproteins (LDL), which is known as bad cholesterol. This lowers your risk for heart attack.
2. A study conducted in 2012 at the Oregon Health and Science University discovered that those who reduced their trans fat intake had better memory.
3. Reducing the amount of bad fats you add to your diet can actually help you become happier. You probably already know the connection between happiness and good health. This also prevents the risk of depression up to 48%.
Know what you need to avoid and what to eat when it comes to foods with fat. The key is to go for natural and fresh foods, while avoiding snack crackers, pastries, breaded chicken strips, and frozen pizza. Although these foods are all tempting, the temporary enjoyment you get out of eating them is not worth you compromising your health.
